Specifications for Paintings for Exhibitions

It is highly recommended that members be active participants in WOW for one year before planning to be in a group exhibit.

Paintings must be watercolor or water-media (such as gouache) unless otherwise specified.

bulletMats must be white or cream (available to order from Ron Wahler, WOW “mat-man.”).
bullet

Frames should be simple and should compliment the painting: wood or metal, not more than 2 inches wide.

bullet Pictures must be securely “wired” for hanging. (No “saw-tooth” or center loop devices.)
bullet

Make sure your “glass” is not cracked or scratched. Real glass can break; Acrylic scratches. You pick!

bullet Paintings should be identified on a small card: Title, size, medium (watercolor, unless specified), your name, and price or NFS. You may wish to paste your bio and/or contact information on the back along with the above information.

Paintings not meeting these standards will not be hung.

The Gallery Hanging Committee will have full and exclusive responsibility for these decisions. Questions about framing may be directed in advance to the Gallery Hanging Committee.

Women of Watercolor is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage. Each painter must deliver and pick up her own paintings or must arrange for  someone to do so on her behalf.
